Sixteen-year-old Maya is just an ordinary teen in an ordinary town. Sure, she doesn't know much about her background - the only thing she really has to cling to is an odd paw-print birthmark on her hip - but she never really put much thought into who her parents were or how she ended up with her adopted parents in this tiny medical-research community on Vancouver Island.
Until now.
Strange things have been happening in this claustrophobic town - from the mountain lions that have been approaching Maya to her best friend's hidden talent for "feeling" out people and situations, to the sexy new bad boy who makes Maya feel . . . . different. Combine that with a few unexplained deaths and a mystery involving Maya's biological parents and it's easy to suspect that this town might have more than its share of skeletons in its closet. 

I loved this book!! It took a little while to get into it with all the blah blah that was at the beginning, but once the story actually got started, it was really good! Maya is an animal lover, she keeps a shed for wild injured animals she finds in the park-almost like her own little animal shelter. She even has a lynx that acts like a house cat and she's the only one he generally likes being around. Then there's the thing with the cougars, it's like they understand her somehow, and she knows this, but doesn't totally understand it. The story really starts to pick up in the last few chapters when a big fire goes tearing through the town. Then there are the secrets throughout the book that slowly start to unravel, like the clinic that's used in the town, isn't really being used for what they say it is. Maya also starts to truly understand her odd shaped birthmark, that it's not just a birthmark but a symbol to who she really is. This is the first book in the spin off series from the 'Darkest Powers Trilogy'. So far, it's just as good as the first trilogy and I hope it stays that way!

Even with Scott's totally infuriating attitude Nora finds herself drawn to him - despite her lingering feeling that he's hiding something. Haunted by images of her murdered father, and questioning whether her nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death, Nora puts herself increasingly in dangerous situations as she desperately searches for answers. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything - and everyone - she trusts.
  

After reading Hush, Hush my expectations were lowered a bit for this book. Plus there's so many mixed reviews on it, I wasn't expecting much, but I was still excited to read it! SO. I totally fell in love with this book! It's way better than Hush, Hush even though Nora did a lot of crying over Patch and boo friggin who.

I was totally expecting Patch to be the Black Hand who killed Nora's dad, or some other creep like one of Chauncy's friends or something. But it wasn't! I especially loved when it started going into the 2nd half of the book, because there was more Patch and he was always there for Nora even though she didn't know it. I didn't like how Nora had broken up with Patch right at the beginning though! I like them together, she's pretty much nothing without him, but in this book she seemed to have grown a brain since Hush, Hush (lol). I really enjoyed reading Crescendo, it was much much better than I expected!

When I first seen the cover of this novel, I was all omg it's ssooo pretty!! But as you know, it's usually the prettiest covers that have the lamest stories. Not in this case! In fact, I'm gonna go as far as saying the story beats the cover (in a good way). The story starts off with Lexie trying to get to know her new stepbrothers, who all seem a bit odd, but hey, not everyone's the same...in some ways more than others.

Her once sweet mother starts turning into this grumpy stranger and Lexie can't figure out why. Even her younger sister Ella seems to know more of what's going on in the family than she does. She meets the guy of her dreams (literally) and it's instant sparks Honestly, I think Lexie and Torin are the perfect couple and if I could make up the perfect man, it'd definitely be him! The story starts to get more and more exciting and who you think is gonna be the "bad guy" in all of this, turns out to not be at all. Amazing. 

There's so many twists and turns, there's never a dull moment throughout the entire book. Makes me love the paranormal stuff even more, especially the romance part of it. I swear I feel everything Lexie feels whenever Torin is around, and the characters are so well made up they really seem like real people. It was ssoo easy to get wrapped up in the story, I was so emotionally involved I practically wanted to cry when it ended! This is for sure one of the best books I've ever read. Bonnie does such an amazing job with her writing, I can't give her enough credit! I highly HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone even a tiny bit into the paranormal reads. Happy reading!

At first site of this book, it caught my eye but I was a bit unsure about, but I bought it anyway, deciding, what the hell, why not. I started reading it without any real expectations but O.M.G.! Once I got past the first few chapters I couldn't put it down and ended up finishing it the same day I started. This is one of the few really good books that really pulled me in emotionally and I felt myself get drawn to Haden almost as much as Theia did! He's so off and on but when he's on he seems like such a good guy. The characters are well defined and it has such a good storyline. It's a bit different from other stuff I've read, I just can't say enough about this book! I'm definitely picking up the next one as soon as its out!

The Summer I Turned Pretty Review

They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer--they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along. 

I read this book in just over a day, it was SSOOO good, such a nice break from all the paranormal stuff I've been reading lately! Belly is such a down-to-earth girl and I could totally relate to her. I think that's pretty much how every girl feels whenever the boys decide to leave you out of everything! At first I really wanted her to be with Conrad, but then he was always so moody and distant I got tired of him before she did. Then the other guy from the bonfire comes along and I'm all like YAY but he doesn't last very long and he doesn't seem to really suit Belly's life. When we find out her mom's bff has gotten sick with cancer again, and this could be her last, I seriously balled my eyes out. I was so caught up in the story and everything felt so relate-able, it's a really incredible and enjoyable read.

Hush, Hush Review

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

Right from the first page, Hush, Hush totally grabbed my attention. Nora is a bit dumb and annoying but not always. Her best friend Vee is a lot like Nora, she can be dumb and naive, but they're still good characters.  I like that Patch has that whole, Mysterious bad guy thing going on, but still gentle. I really thought that Patch was going to be the bad guy and end up killing Nora and/or Vee, but then Elliot and Jules showed up and they made it seem like Elliot was the killer but I was always like, where'd Jules go? The book starts out with some loose ends but definitely ties them up at the end.  I really like the mystery mixed with romance and the other stuff that goes on. I really like how it ended, with Patch becoming Nora's guardian angel.
