What It's About!
One choice can transform you--or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves--and herself--while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.
Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable--and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.
"New York Times" bestselling author Veronica Roth's much-anticipated second book of the dystopian "Divergent" series is another intoxicating thrill ride of a story, rich with hallmark twists, heartbreaks, romance, and powerful insights about human nature.

Review
Insurgent
was...beyond my expectations. Divergent had been a good starter book
for the beginning of a trilogy, and I had thought it was really good,
but it really can't stand up to Insurgent. Insurgent was full of non
stop action, heartache, tears, fears and losing characters. Right away
it was like walking into the middle of the book instead of the beginning
(because the start of books are generally pretty slow) so I had thought
it would slow down and I was scared to be disappointed, but I wasn't.
I love Tobias, or four, but frig he got on my nerves sometimes! He was so back and forth with Tris whenever they were actually in the same room, one second I'd be all over him then the next he'd just totally kill it for me. I do have to say it was pretty freakin' hot when Tris put herself in that predicament and he came to bust her out. Yum yum yum :)
I'm not even really sure what to say about Tris at this point, I like that she can suck it up and just do whatever it is she needs to do, but at the same time it seems like all she ever did was cry about things she can't change. Ya, she lost some people but you ARE in the middle of a war, so it's kind of to be expected. Cry about it but not in every freakin' chapter. That's all I'm gonna say.
There was definitely one character that I thought for sure would never change and/or make it till the end. I'm still not sure whether he's actually on Tris' side, or if he was just pretending to be for the sake of some greater good to his own life or something. I started to like him a little bit but we'll see in book 3 if he's actually a good guy or not. I loved how this book was bursting at the seems with so many twists and turns, just like this one. It really made for a great book and kept my attention the whole time I was reading it.
Then there's the ending, which I probably couldn't have ever predicted! It was a very good conclusion to the end of the second book, although, we were left with a huge cliffhanger and now have to wait forever for the last book. It ended the second book, while at the same time setting up the story for the third, which I really liked. Makes me wish I had put off reading the book until the last one is out.
